A COUNTRY CHRISTMAS
at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville
6-day motorcoach tour
December 4 - 9, 2008

There is no better way to usher in the Holiday Season than a visit to the Country Music Capital of America. And – staying at the beautiful Opryland Hotel in Nashville is an experience you’ll cherish forever. We have top-notch entertainment, delicious meals and just a lot of “fun” planned for an unforgettable Christmas vacation!

Day 1 With pickups along I-80, starting at Lexington, we enjoy a Brown Bag Breakfast enroute. Our destination today is Alton, IL, a small historic town across the Mississippi River from St. Louis. This evening we attend the “Die Laughing” Dinner Theatre,”. with a delicious 4 course dinner.

Day 2 After a delicious hot, breakfast buffet, we head to Nashville, arriving early afternoon at the beautiful Opryland Hotel, where we spend the next 3 nights. You’ll have plenty of time to “explore” this resort, which is fully decorated for the Christmas Season. Outside, the hotel has a 13 story Christmas tree with 23 thousand lights, as well as a million other lights to complete the decorations. Inside the hotel has thousands of decorations, miles of red ribbon and garland, hundreds of poinsettias and one of the largest Nativity Scenes in the country.
You have tickets to Treasures for the Holiday Crafts & Antique Fair, held in the Opryland Hotel, where you’ll see Tennessee craftsmen create some unique Christmas gifts — a great place to do some of that Christmas shopping. This evening we see the famous Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular Show. Direct from New York, this show will feature the “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers”, “The Living Nativity”, and of course “Santa”. A fantastic show that will be one of the highlights of our Christmas experience, live from the stage of the Grand Ole Opry.

Day 3 Today we explore this fascinating city, with a tour by a local step-on guide. We’ll drive by the homes of the stars, through Historic downtown, Music Row, the Parthenon and visit the Historic Ryman Auditorium, home of the original Grand Ole Opry. After some free time on historic Second Avenue, we return to the hotel. This evening we have reserved seats in the Opryland Ballroom for the Louise Mandrell Christmas Dinner Show. You’ll enjoy top-notch entertainment and a delicious Lazy Susan Family Style Christmas Dinner.

Day 4 This morning we have tickets to ”Ice”, a self-contained refrigerated exhibition. You’ll see a display of carvings, sculptures and three dimensional holiday themed displays all made out of ice. You’ll enjoy demonstrations as the artists create their masterpieces. Lunch today is on the General Jackson Showboat, with more top-notch entertainment and delicious food. We’ll have some free time at the Opry Mills before returning to our hotel. Dinner this evening will be at Rachel’s in the hotel before we go to the world famous Grand Ole Opry. This spectacular performance will be at the Historic Ryman Auditorium instead of at their new theater. We know you will enjoy seeing this long-running show in the same auditorium where they built their outstanding reputation. This longest, continuously broadcast radio program in the nation (since 1925) will feature over 20 acts, from the legendary to the new young stars.
